Difference Between Hold Mail & Mail Forwarding

What is Hold Mail?
United Stated Postal Service provides Hold Mail service which allow users to put hold on all their mail items, packages, and parcels for 30 days for free. If you’re heading out of town, or going on a vacation, or on a business trip and don’t want to lose any of your important mail, then it is advised to use Hold Mail Service.
This service is not available for more that 30 days i.e. you can put hold on mail items for 30 or less than 30 days only. Please note that, you will receive all your accumulated mail items on the last date of your hold mail request. What is USPS Mail Forwarding?
Mail Forwarding or change of address allow users to receive mail items on a new address. For an instance, if you’re moving out to a new address temporarily or permanently for more than 30 days. Then use Mail Forwarding service to receive all your mail items on a new address.
