What to do in case of Lost or Damaged Money Order?
In case of a damaged money order, you need to visit your local post office with a damaged money order and receipt. USPS will replace money orders that are damaged. While in case of a lost or stolen money order you need to follow the following steps:
- Visit your local post office and submit PS Form 6401 with an inquiry fees of $5.95.
- Then USPS will confirm the status of your money order and then issue a replacement.
